Spring is in the air, I can feel it!
We’re all tired of winter by now, even if we’re not tired of
extra snow days from school. So, with warmer weather just
around the corner, what’s in store?
I’ve always thought of spring as a time for new beginnings.
Trying new authors, reading a new genre, looking at things in
new ways. You’ll notice that we’ve made some positive changes
in the YA section, including a New Releases bay and an
expansion of the Manga and Graphic Novels area. We’re also
planning a number of cool new YA experiences including a
murder mystery night in March. There will certainly be more
to come, so stay tuned.
Summer Reading, along with the warmer weather, is just around
the corner. This, as some of you know, is a great opportunity
to volunteer at the Library for teens and preteens. We will
be putting out applications in March, so if you’re interested,
please fill them out and get them in as soon as possible.
There are no set requirements, only a desire to help make the
Library run smoothly during its busiest time of the year.
As always, I want to be here for you to help make your library
experience better. You can always stop by and talk if I am here,
or email me at hfach @ lavergne.org. I’d love to hear what
you’re reading, what you want in terms of programs and offerings,
what’s working, what’s not working. That’s my job: to help you.
So, as spring approaches, try something new. It could be the
start of something really exciting; but you’ll never know until
you try.
