Contests YA Summer Reading 2010 Contest #1:Reading All patrons age 12-18 may enter the contest. For each book read or listened to, patron may turn in a short, 1-paragraph review, along with current contact information, on an entry form. All entries must be received by Friday, July 30 in order to be eligible for the grand prizes. Every other week, we will draw for a $10 gift card. The more books read/listened to, the more chances there are to win (limit one entry per book.) In order to win any prize, patron must be in good standing with no overdues and no fines exceeding $5.00 total. All books and audio titles from the Library with the exception of "E" children’s books are eligible. At the End of Summer Party, we will draw for the grand prize ($75 gift card) and runner-up prize (digital camera, ARV $25.) Entrants must be present to claim prizes. Thank you to everyone who has participated so far. Below are the first week's winners for a $10 gift card. Sammy L. and Dustin H. Contest #2:Art All patrons age 12-18 may enter the contest. There will be two separate age brackets for the contest: 12-14 and 15-18. The three categories are: poetry of any style (limit 2 pages), prose (short story, screenplay, essay, creative nonfiction) and visual art (drawing, painting, photography, etc.) There is no limit to the number of entries. Each entry must have a form attached with the artist’s name and contact information. Patron must be in good standing with no overdues and no fines exceeding $5.00 total to win. Entries must be received by July 24 to be eligible. All winners will be selected by a panel of Library staff judges, whose decisions are final. The overall winner for each category and age bracket will receive a $25 gift card. Entrants must be present at the End of Summer Party to claim prizes. Good luck to everyone!
