All events are free and open to everyone age 12-18. They are held
in Meeting Room 1 (front of the Library) unless otherwise noted.
January
Tuesday, January 5 @ 6:00pm - Teen Craft: Altered Fabric
Bring a t-shirt, pair of pants, shoes, anything…and turn it into
something completely new and different! You must pre-register in
advance and there is a limit of 10 participants. We’ll provide
the craft supplies, you provide your creativity.
Saturday, January 16 @ 2:00pm - New Release Movie Afternoon
Join us for a free showing of the 6th mega-hit adventure of
everyone’s favorite boy wizard. We’ll serve up the popcorn and
hot drinks.
Tuesday, January 19 @ 6:00pm - Open Discussion Forum
Take part in a roundtable-style discussion and make your voice
heard at your library. Have ideas? We want to hear them!
Saturday, January 30 @ 2:00pm - Madden NFL Super Bowl Challenge
Come and test your Madden skills as we break out the game systems
and the big-screen TVs. Winner will receive a football-related prize.
February
Tuesday, February 2 @ 6:00pm - Teen Craft: Ductapalooza
What can you make from duct tape? Just about anything. We’ll have
plenty of it on hand for you to make some cool creations. Limit 10
participants; must pre-register to participate.
Saturday, February 13 @ 2:00pm - New Release Movie Afternoon
So the giant evil fallen robots bent on world domination didn’t
get their way the first time around. It’s Round 2 of a battle
royale for the fate of the earth. We promise you’ll be
"transformed" by this film. Popcorn and soft drinks provided.
Tuesday, February 16 @ 6:00pm - Open Discussion Forum
It’s your library, and we want to hear your voices! Join us for
a roundtable discussion of the current and future offerings and
programs at the Library.
Saturday, February 27 @ 2:00pm - Board? Games!
No reason to be "board" in the thick of winter as we
break out all your favorites from our collection. Snacks and
soft drinks provided.
March
Saturday, March 6 @ 2:0pm - How To Write A Graphic Novel 101
We know you love to read graphic novels and Manga. Now Heather
will give you an intro on how to make one all your own. Also,
learn about career opportunities in this exciting field.
Tuesday, March 16 @ 6:00pm - Open Discussion Forum
If you have something on your mind (hopefully library-related)
and want to discuss it with your peers and your YA library
staff in a friendly, non-judgmental arena, this is the place
to be.
Friday, March 26 @ 7:00pm-8:30pm - Murder Mystery Night
Could it be? Someone’s been murdered at the library; and
everyone’s a suspect. We’ll host a unique, interactive
YA-only experience. Limit 10-12 participants; must pre-register
by e-mailing Heather or calling her in advance.
